21 Years of brutal Nepalese Royal Massacre!
It’s been 21 years today since the Nepalese Royal massacre, which had shaken the entire world. Ten people including the entire family of late King Birendra were killed in the incident that took place on 19 Jesth 2058 BS at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace – the then residence of the Nepalese monarchy.
10 people including the entire family of late King Birendra were mercilessly killed on 19 Jesth 2058 BS at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace. People at the center of Kathmandu all heard the sound of automatic gunfire at 8:45 pm and feared that the Maoists were attacking the Narayanhiti Palace but it was not.
Much controversy surrounds the circumstances of the massacre, and even today, with the abolishment of the monarchy following the 2006 revolution, many questions remain unresolved.
The duration of the subsequent investigation, which only lasted for two weeks and did not involve any major forensic analysis, despite an offer by Scotland Yard to carry one out, etc. remains unresolved.
The real motive behind this bloodshed and the people engaged in Royal Massacre is still unknown. 19th Jesth is considered one of the black days in Nepali history.
