Bhagarathi Bhatta’s
Police have arrested Bhagarathi Bhatta’s classmate for allegedly murdering her after rape. A police source claimed that the accused youth had confessed to the crime saying that he pushed the girl off a hill and then raped her after she got injured. The post-mortem report had confirmed that Bhatta was also raped. The man was nabbed from Eithpur of Bhim Dutta Municipality of Kanchanpur district and handed over to Baitadi police. The arrested male had come to Mahendranagar a few days after the murder of Bhagarathi.
The accused said he executed the crime for revenge.
“There is an old feud between the two neighboring families. The accused has given a statement that he raped Bhatta in a rivalry related to her father,” said an official involved in the investigation.
