Collapsed Road in Kamaladi Reconstructed and Reopened
The sunken road at Kamaladi, near the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office, has been successfully reconstructed and reopened for use starting today. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the rebuilt road.
The road had been closed since the last week of July due to a collapse. Following the completion of a 4.48-meter-long box culvert with a single span, the road is now operational again.
However, traffic police have announced that the road will remain one-way, as it was before the collapse. Vehicles from Mahendra Statue at Durbar Marg can only head towards Kamalpokhari. Similarly, the road from the Nepal Academy via Kamaladi Ganeshsthan to Ghantaghar will also continue to be one-way.
