Balen Shah leading like a boss in Kathmandu Metropolis mayoral race

Independent mayoral candidate of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah continues to lead the race with a monumental 38,333 votes. He has been widening the gap with his rivals.

Out of a total of 192,000 votes that were cast in the Kathmandu metropolis in this election, 103,800 votes have been counted so far. (Update time: 8:30 AM/22 May 2022)

Balen is massive 17,000+ votes ahead of his closest rival Srijana Singh, the common candidate of the ruling coalition. Keshav Sthapit is lagging behind Srijina Singh in the third position with 21,008 votes.

So far, the counting of votes of 13 wards including ward numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32 has been completed.

Similarly, the counting of votes in wards 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 23, 24, 25, and 26 is underway at the Rastriya Sabha Griha, Exhibition Road in Kathmandu.

Note: Srijana Singh & Keshav Sthapit are still pretty hopeful to bounce back as more than 88,000 votes are yet to be counted.
