Balen Shah going strong, 10K plus votes…

Independent mayoral candidate Balen Shah has crossed 10,000 plus votes in the race for Kathmandu Metropolis. Balen has received 10,241 votes, while his nearest competitor Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML has received only 5,453 votes as of the latest updates provided (8:35 AM/ 17 May).

Balen, who took the lead from the beginning of the counting, has maintained it very well. 

Similarly, in the deputy mayoral race, CPN-UML’s Sunita Dangol is leading with 9,858 votes.

So far, the results of wards 1 and 2 of the Kathmandu metropolis have been made public while the counting of votes in wards 3, 4, 31, and 34 is underway in the City Hall at Exhibition Road, Kathmandu.
