The government of Nepal has introduced new rules for people traveling abroad on visit and tourist visas. The new rules will come into effect from today (10 Magh/ 24January).
The Immigration Department has introduced new regulations, along with a travel advisory, following numerous incidents of people not returning to Nepal while traveling abroad on visit visas.
Under the new rules, people will need a passport valid for at least six months to obtain a travel permit.
A round-trip air tickets, evidence of hotel booking for the entire visit duration, or, in the case of staying with a relative without hotel reservation, a citizenship certificate or any other document indicating the relationship within three generations of the same household will be needed.
