Laxmi Narayan Shilpakar: The Flag Man of Nepal
Laxmi Narayan Shilpakar, 67 (as of May 2022), popularly known as ‘The Flag Man of Nepal’ is a resident of Kalimati, Kathmandu, Nepal. He wakes up every morning, takes a walk from his residence in Kalimati, and travels along the streets of Kathmandu Valley with the national flag in his hands.
He doesn’t walk carrying a national flag for money, but rather for the nation’s benefit. He wants Nepali youths to acknowledge the importance of nationality. The Flag Man, Shilpakar has been to all the 77 districts of Nepal to spread the feeling of nationality and wants to make his journey international. Prior to this, he had worked as a carpenter. Shilpakar has also been involved with several organizations. He is a single father to his two sons and a daughter.
P.S. He has been supporting Kathmandu metropolis independent candidate Balen Shah. Shilpakar said that he is done with corrupt leaders and systems.
