The LARGEST flag of Nepal in Ligligkot, Gorkha
The Largest National Flag of Nepal is erected in Liglig Fort (ligligkot), Gorkha. Ligligkot is a hilltop located in Palungtar Municipality in the Gorkha district of Nepal, at an elevation of 1437 meters from sea level.
The size of the flag is 40 feet tall (12.19 meters) and the total height of the pole is 60 feet (18.28 meters). The flag is replaced frequently due to the strong wind that blows at ligligkot.
Note: Legend has it that the word ‘LigLig’ comes from the word “lingling” from the Magar language, meaning; clear, pristine, beautiful view.
