Reconstruction of 124 schools in Gulmi
January 13 – Reconstruction of 124 schools in Gulmi has been completed out of the schools damaged by the earthquake in 2072 BS. Five years after the quake, the reconstruction of 274 classrooms in 124 school buildings has been completed, said Pitamber Panthi, head of the National Reconstruction Authority’s District Project Implementation Unit (Education) Gulmi. At present, 209 classrooms of 62 school buildings are under construction in the district, said the unit chief. There are 40 4-room school buildings, 5 3-room school buildings and 17 2-room school buildings. The unit chief said that the school reconstruction work was still pending as there were few programs received from the center and many affected schools in the district.
