Sandeep Lamichhane Found Guilty in Rape Case
Former Nepal Men’s Cricket Team captain Sandeep Lamichhane has been convicted by the Kathmandu District Court in a rape case on Friday after a week-long final hearing.
The girl accusing the cricketer of rape said she was a minor and asked for a 10 to 12-year sentence. But the case got complicated because her age varied in different documents.
Regarding the victim’s age, the Court concluded that she was no more a minor at the time of the incident. However, Lamichhane has been declared guilty of relationship without consent.
The Court informed that the announcement on the fine and sentence against Lamichhane will be announced on January 10.
