Strict Lockdown in Kathmandu until June 3 (Midnight) from 28 May 2021
Stricter prohibitory order/ lockdown has been implemented until June 3 (midnight) from today. The order violators will be penalized as per the infection management of the COVID-19 ordinance. According to the provision, the order violator will be jailed for one year or fined up to Rs 500,000. Vegetable shops are allowed to open until 9 am but the grocery shops will remain closed during the period. This measure has been adopted after the cases of COVID-19 did not subside with the increasing movement of people.
According to the latest report, there are 11,043 active cases of coronavirus infection in Kathmandu Metropolis alone. So far 405 patients have lost their lives, 10,368 people are in home isolation, 128 in institutional isolations while 546 are under treatment at various hospitals in Kathmandu.
