The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is preparing to construct Yama Buddha Park for skateboarding and B-boying along with other facilities.
Unveiling the plan for the new fiscal year 2022/23, the city government says it has allocated Rs 1.5 crore for the project named after Yama Buddha, a hip-hop star who died by suicide in 2017.
KMC official says the government wants to attract the new generation to these sports and art fields. The Yama Buddha Park is planned to be constructed in Khusibu Town Planning, Ward 16.
It should be noted that there has not been any skateboard park even in the capital city of the country.
