Bhatbhateni owner Min Bahadur Gurung sentenced 2-year in prison
The Special Court has sentenced Bhatbhateni owner, Min Bahadur Gurung to a 2-year in prison and a fine of Rs 80 Lakh in Lalitaniwas land scam. Earlier, Gurung was released on a bail of Rs 2.46 crore in September 2023.
Hearing on the writ, a bench of Judges Khusi Prasad Tharu, Ram Bahadur Thapa and Ritendra Thapa issued this verdict convicting Gurung for his role in transferring the ownership of the government land to his name and his relatives.
The anti-graft body on February 5, 2020 had filed a case against 175 individuals including Gurung at the Special Court concluding that 136 ropanis of Lalita Niwas land had been embezzled.
