Prithivi Subba Gurung Re-Appointed as Chief Minister
Nepali Congress and other major political parties were dreaming of re-forming government in Gandaki Province, but all their hard works have been shattered as they couldn’t get signatures of 31 parliamentarians within the time limit given to claim the majority within three days as per the Constitution of Nepal. Prithvi Subba Gurung has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province. Province Chief Sita Kumari Poudel appointed Gurung as the Chief Minister on Wednesday. State Chief Poudel had given three days to claim a majority government after Prithvi Subba Gurung resigned on May 10.
On the National side, a similar story is expected to repeat. The formation of a coalition government by opposition parties is almost unlikely with the lawmakers of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) sharply divided. Despite efforts being made by the main opposition Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center), the new power-sharing is not possible without the support of the JSP. The Thakur-Mahato faction is loyal to Prime Minister KP Oli saying that the Oli government would address their demands. The faction remained neutral during the confidence motion tabled by Prime Minister KP Oli on Monday.
Therefore, it is highly likely that KP Oli will be appointed the Prime minister again. What do you think about it? Feel free to express your thoughts on this.
P.S. Let’s keep their Idiocracy, ignorance, and irresponsibilities aside for now.
